·        Kepler Wessels has represented two countries in the history of  ICC World Cup. He represented Australia from 1982 to 1985, and later represented South Africa in 1991.
·        Nolan Clarke, a player from the Netherlands, was 47 when he played for the World Cup in 1996 and became the oldest player.
·        In the long history of the very interesting matched held between India and Pakistan, India has never lost a match against Pakistan.
·        In the 1999 World Cup match, Hansie Cronje and Allan Donald of South Africa used earphones to communicate with their coach. Later, Sourav Ganguly’s appeal was considered, and the earpieces were withdrawn.
·        Sri Lankan team has been lucky enough to win two of their league matches without playing a single ball. Sri Lanka was the host of the 1996 ICC World Cup tournament, and due to security reasons, Australian and West Indies players refused traveling to Sri Lanka. Ultimately, the host nation turned out to be the winner in both the games.
