Previews -
After resuming the Test and ODI format after COVID-19
outbreak, England is ready to start the T20 format with the home series against
Pakistan. England are fresh off after a Test series victory against Pakistan
but the T20 series would have a different aspect. England hasn’t included a
single player from the Test side so the contest will be quite different.
Pakistan retained few players from the Test sides likes of Shadab Khan, Shaheen
Shah Afridi, Mohammed Rizwan and Naseem Shah. The experienced players Hafeez
and Malik will play the sheet anchors for the visitors. Pakistan has a strong
T20 unit and they can better their Test debacle into the shorter format of
cricket. England recently defeated Ireland in last limited series. Sam Billings
and Johnny Barstow both got runs in the series and in the bowling unit, they
have Tom Curran, Adil Rashid and David Willey. It would be a cracker game of
cricket and on paper, Pakistan looks like a better side but defeating England
on their home soil will be a tough task.
Pitch
Report
Old Trafford, Manchester will host the match between England
and Pakistan. The surface is a good batting track and it offers a good amount
of runs in T20. Pace attack can draw attention in first few over and spinners
can command in middle-overs. A score between 160-170 would be an imposing
total.
