India gears up for pink-ball Test Match

After registering a mammoth victory against Bangladesh during the 1st Test at Indore, the Men in Blue are anxiously looking forward to the 2nd test and final game of the series. The upcoming game will be a day-night test scheduled to be played at the Eden Garden in Kolkata. What’s more exciting about the game is that it is the first-ever pink-ball test match, to be played by both the teams.

Both the teams have been practising hard in the nets to get their hands gripped on the pink ball. But what exactly is this Pink Ball game?

Well, the pink ball game refers to day-night test matches. The upcoming game will begin at 1:30 P.M. IST unlike the usual time of 9:30 A.M. IST. Also, the traditional red ball will be replaced by a pink ball for better visibility under the light. 

Prior to this, India was given a chance to play a pink ball test game Down Under, but the governing authority, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) turned down the offer.
