Supernovas vs Velocity | Indian Women’s T20 2020 | Match Prediction

Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas and Mithali’s Velocity face off in the opening game of the Indian Women’s T20 2020 in Sharjah.

Team Preview

After going head to head in last year’s final, Supernovas and Velocity start the new season of Indian Women’s T20. Covid and the clash with ongoing Australian Big Bash, Australia, and England’s players will be missed this time but BCCI has included some players from other countries such as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. After the maiden WT20 Final, it would be a big tournament for the Indian players to start their competitive cricket in the pandemic.

Supernovas have two important spinners Radha Yadav and Poonam Yadav who can outclass any opposition on the spinning tracks. Chamari Atapattu and Siriwardene are the big boosts to the side in the all-around section. Jemimah might be promoted up in the order with Priya Punia. Khaka can start with the new ball after looking back at her numbers in the last one year. Harman guided Supernovas to a maiden title with a brilliant half-century in the final. She will play a sheet-anchor in middle-overs and push herself in the finishing role as well.

For Velocity, Sharjah would suit their playing style. Mithali and Veda have enough experience. Both players are used to the spin. The top-scorer for India in WT20 2020, Shefali can give acceleration in the powerplay. Danielle Wyatt has recently appeared in England’s domestic ODI tournament and produced two half-centuries in two matches. Mithali can promote her in the top-order.

Pitch Report

Sharjah’s surface is a spin-dominating track. The match will be played on the used surface, and on such tracks, we expect a low-scoring game in Women’s T20s. Women players generally don’t produce enough bounce, so both sides can try spinners from the first ball.

Possible XI

Supernovas

Priya Punia, Jemimah Rodrigues,Harmanpreet Kaur, Chamari Atapattu, Anuja Patil, Radha Yadav, Taniya Bhatia, Shashikala Siriwardene, Poonam Yadav, Shakera Selman, Ayushi Soni, Ayabonga Khaka, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Muskan Malik

England vs Australia, Third ODI, Match Prediction

England and Australia square off in the 3rd ODI of the 3-matches ODI series at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Team Preview

England snatched the victory from the jaws of the defeat in the second ODI to level the series 1-1 and took the series into the decider. England are the strongest side at home and they haven’t lost a single bilateral ODI series in the last 4-5 years. After a disappointing batting in the 2nd game, the bowlers saved the series defeat. They made a perfect comeback when Australia were 144/2, in the chase of 232. Archer and Sam Curran delivered breakthroughs with some terrific deliveries. England won the match by 26 runs and Archer declared man of the match.

In the opening game, Australia won by 19 runs after a fighting knock of Sam Billings. Both sides have some slight concerns but England have more as they made errors in both games. Australia will see Steve Smith at top-order and Stoinis might be dropped. Morgan will go with the same eleven. The decider game would be more thrilling as the Old Trafford is providing decent cricketing conditions.

Pitch Report

Old Trafford, Manchester is offering help to spinners in the game, as we saw with Zampa and Rashid. It’s a good batting track if batsmen avoid unwanted errors against the new ball and the spin. Chasing might be tricky so batting first is an ideal call.  The weather is pretty good in Manchester on Wednesday, a perfect ODI conditions.

Possible XI

England

Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Sam Billings, Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer

Australia

David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Key Players

England vs Australia, First ODI, Match Prediction

England and Australia face each other in the opening ODI fixture of the 3-matches ODI series at Manchester on Friday.

Team Preview

Australia makes travel to Manchester to change its fortune in the ODI series with England. Morgan has led England to its maiden ODI World Cup at Lord’s and they have already started their preparation in ICC’s new ODI Super League with a 2-1 victory against Ireland. The T20 success is also fresh and the pressure is again on Australia, despite winning the final T20I. Australia will also start their World Cup 2023 qualification process under Super League and the first assignment is against the number one ODI side.

Australia had underperformed in ODI since its defeat to England in the World Cup semifinal. They had won only two games since then, losing the series against India and South Africa. Marnus Labuschagne will be back in the ODI squad who impressed with his batting since his ODI debut. England have also added Jason Roy in the ODI side and T20 performer Malan will join the side as cover. Australia is a good ODI side but lack of playing cricket in the last 6 months might trouble their game.

Pitch Report

The Old Trafford is a batting-friendly track and it offers good amount of runs, despite having a sluggish behavior of the pitch. Spinners might trouble in middle-overs. Weather is cloudy in Manchester on match-day and we expect decent game of cricket.

Possible XI

England

Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (C), Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood

Australia

Aaron Finch (c), David Warner, Alex Carey (wk), Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa

England vs Australia, Third T20 International, Match Prediction

England and Australia meet again in the final T20I of the series on Tuesday evening at Southampton.

Team Preview

England and Australia will conclude the T20I series on Tuesday with its final match of the series. Fan expected to a cracking finale but England overcame Australia in the first two games to seal the series. They have now taken a 2-0 lead and they are the new number one T20 ranking holdscxascer. After winning the first T20 by just 2 runs, the Hosts outplayed Australia riding on Malan and Buttler show. Australian batting line up suffered early blows and the slight efforts from the middle-order helped them to post 157 on board.

Despite losing Bairstow early, England took away the game from Rankings. Butler scored unbeaten 77 and Malan continued his top runs with scoring 32-balls 42. Zampa and Agar tried to give Australia some relief but Butler finished the game with a huge six. The left-hander will be unavailable for the final T20I due to personal reasons and Sam Billings might replace him. On the other hand, Australia can make one or two changes ahead of the ODI series which is starting from September 12 in Manchester.

Pitch Report

The Rose Bowl, Southampton is offering bit of help to spin, and batting against the spin in 2nd innings is not an easy task as we saw what Zampa and Agar did in the previous game, the weather is pretty cloudy and we can expect another thrilling T20 match.

Possible XI

England

Jonny Bairstow (WK), Tom Banton, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (c), Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood

Australia

England vs Australia, Second T20 International, Match Prediction

England takes on Australia in Sunday T20 encounter in 3-matches T20I series at Southampton. England is leading in the series 1-0.

Match Preview

England and Australia will be squaring off in the second T20I on Sunday evening at Southampton. England would keen to seal the series after taking 1-0 lead on Friday. Meanwhile, Australia would aim to square the series to stay alive in the series. The series opener had a dramatic finish and England hold the nerve when Australia delivered a late collapse after a 96-runs opening stand. Jos Butler made a great start in opening role and scored 44 off just 29 balls and Malan continued his terrific form with scoring vital 66 runs. Australia and England both need to focus on their middle-order who was tested and failed. It was England who made a comeback in last 6 overs to take the game home.

Pitch Report

Rose Bowl, Southampton is a fine batting track and it also provides some help to spin in middle-overs as we saw in previous game. Despite, Australia’s failure in chase, this track is good for chasing. A score of 180 might be easily chased. Weather is clear on Sunday and we expect a full game.

Australia vs England, First T20 International, Match Prediction

Australia and England will kick start their T20I series with the first T20I at Rose Bowl, Southampton.

Team Preview

The number 1 T20 side and number 2 T20 side will take each other in 3-matches T20 series to prove their T20 rankings. England is the only side who had played lot of cricket since the resumption of cricket and they recently participated in the T20 series with Pakistan which was tied with 1-1 as England lost the final T20 by 5 runs following the 5-wickets victory in the 2nd T20I.  England needs to recheck their errors from the previous defeat. The middle-order was tested and only Moeen Ali survived with a gritty half-century. English top-order is having a top-class form as Banton, Bairstow, Malan, and Morgan scored a half-century in the series. The bowling department might be a worrying sign for them. England has recalled Jofra Archer and Jos Butler who will play their first limited-overs series in this home summer.

Meanwhile, Australia are back in the International Cricket after a gap of 6 months as they last played to New Zealand back in March. For the England tour, Australia called some in-form players from the Big Bash likes of Riley Meredith, Josh Philippe, and Daniel Sams who might get the T20 cap for the first time. The Aussie trio Warner, Finch, and Smith would be a key factor in the series and they are in terrific form in limited-format. Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Lyon, and Marcus Stoinis have also been recalled for the series. Stoinis and Maxwell both had good performance with bat and ball in intra-squad fixtures.

Pitch Report

The Rose Bowl, Southampton is a batting-friendly track and Australia got 248 on this ground last time. It’s a busy track and offers good amount of runs. The weather is pretty cloudy and pacers can trouble with the ball. We expect a high-scoring game on Friday as both sides have enough fireworks.

Possible XI

England

Eoin Morgan (C), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonathan Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings/Jos Buttler, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood

Australia

Aaron Finch (c), David Warner, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey (WK), Ashton Agar, Marcus Stoinis/Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa

Key Players

England vs Pakistan, 3rd T20 International, Match Prediction

England and Pakistan face off each other in the final T20I of the Three-matches T20I series in Manchester.

Match Timing: September 1, 2020 (10:30 PM IST)

Team Previews -  England vs Pakistan Cricket Series 2020

Pakistan will play their final tour game on Tuesday in the search of the first victory. After the washed-out affair in the first T20I, both sides witnessed a high-scoring game on Sunday. Babar Azam played steady innings of 54 and Hafeez guided the Pakistani innings with blistering 69 off 36 balls to put 195 on the board. Against a quality bowling unit, England made a fluent start, riding on Bairstow’s quick 44. Shadab introduced two breakthroughs but it wasn’t enough as Malan and the captain Morgan put a match-winning stand of 112 runs to draw the first blood for the hosts.

England is leading with 1-0 in the series with the final game to be played on Tuesday, Pakistan has to win this game to avoid another defeat in the T20 format. The former No.1 ranked side has so many issues as they’re not adapting the conditions and their strong bowling revolved around Imad and Shadab in both games. England are yet again strong favourites. They are the team that can even chase 220 plus on this surface so Pakistan needs a good bowling show in the final T20 series to walk home with a moral victory.

Pitch Report

The Old Trafford will host yet another fixture of the T20I series and it is offering good amount of runs as the ball is coming on the bat easily. Spinners have slight help from the pitch but batsmen will have a party in the end. We expect another high-scoring game in the final T20I.

Possible XI

England

Tom Banton, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (c), Sam Billings, Moeen Ali/Joe Denly, Tom Curran, Lewis Gregory, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood

Pakistan

Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Iftikhar Ahmed/Haider Ali, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir/Wahab Riaz, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi

Key Players

England vs Pakistan, 2nd T20 International, Match Prediction

England and Pakistan play each other in the second outing of the 3-matches T20I series at Manchester.

Team Previews -  England vs Pakistan Cricket Series 2020

After the washed-out affair on Friday, England and Pakistan meet in the 2nd T20I on Sunday. Both sides would have a big opportunity to take a lead in the series. On Friday’s first T20I, both sides have their own positives. English opener Tom Banton took the responsibility and smashed 71 off 42 balls with 5 sixes. Pakistan gave the nod to Rizwan over Sarfraz and the Test performer put a good show with picking a stunner to get Moen Ali out. He also made one stumping to give England 6th blow. England needs to look back at their collapse when they lost 4 wickets for just 14 runs. Babar tried Imad in the first over and the spinners had a great day in the washed-out affair. They picked all 5 wickets of the English batsmen. Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan grabbed two scalps each. Both sides look great on paper and it would be a thrilling game on Sunday to step closer to the series win. Both captains might go with the similar XI in this game.

Pitch Report

Old Trafford, Manchester is a fine batting track but the outfield is a bit slow due to the heavy rains last night. Spinners can control runs here. Weather is pretty clear on Sunday but nobody can predict the actual report about UK’s weather. A score around 160-170 will be a good score on this ground.

Possible XI

England

Tom Banton, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (c), Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Tom Curran, Lewis Gregory, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood

Pakistan

Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf/Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi

Key Players

England vs Pakistan First T20 Match Prediction

England and Pakistan will kick start the T20 series with the opening game at Manchester on Friday.

Team Previews -  England and Pakistan Cricket Series 2020

After resuming the Test and ODI format after COVID-19 outbreak, England is ready to start the T20 format with the home series against Pakistan. England are fresh off after a Test series victory against Pakistan but the T20 series would have a different aspect. England hasn’t included a single player from the Test side so the contest will be quite different. Pakistan retained few players from the Test sides likes of Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammed Rizwan and Naseem Shah. The experienced players Hafeez and Malik will play the sheet anchors for the visitors. Pakistan has a strong T20 unit and they can better their Test debacle into the shorter format of cricket. England recently defeated Ireland in last limited series. Sam Billings and Johnny Barstow both got runs in the series and in the bowling unit, they have Tom Curran, Adil Rashid and David Willey. It would be a cracker game of cricket and on paper, Pakistan looks like a better side but defeating England on their home soil will be a tough task.

Pitch Report

Old Trafford, Manchester will host the match between England and Pakistan. The surface is a good batting track and it offers a good amount of runs in T20. Pace attack can draw attention in first few over and spinners can command in middle-overs. A score between 160-170 would be an imposing total.

Possible XI

England

Eoin Morgan (c), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Lewis Gregory/Chris Jordan, Saqib Mahmood, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, David Willey

Pakistan

Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Haider Ali/Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Mohammad Amir/Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Malik

Key Players

England

Sam Billings

Last home-series - M: 3, Runs: 132, Avg: 132

Eoin Morgan

Last 10 T20Is - Runs: 395, Avg: 65.83, SR: 182.87

Pakistan

Pakistan vs England Third Test, MyTeam11 Match Prediction

Pakistan and England Series 2020 lock horns in the final test of the series, part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Team Preview

England and Pakistan will meet again in Southampton for the final Test of the series. England have taken an unassailable lead in the series after the thrilling win at Manchester in first Test. The second Test match was washed out. England needs a draw to clinch the series and a win can take them ahead of the Australia in the points table of ICC World Test Championship. In the washed out game, England bowled Pakistan out on 236 to draw some positives and Crawley also got runs to give visitors a relief in top-order. Pakistan could retain Fawad Alam again after the failure in his comeback Test. England is likely to go ahead with the same XI, played in the last affair. Jofra Archer could get the game if England try out the extra pacer but it looks dull here. Azahar Ali’s form is also creating a tension for team management. If their bowling unit displays the similar performance, they showed in Manchester, it would be a great comeback story for Pakistan to end the series with a happy note.

Pitch Report

The Rose Bowl, Southampton will host this Test match with a rain forecast. The heavy rainfall is already predicted so it might be a two-day affair. Pacers will have an advantage in overcast condition and bowling first would be a good idea after winning the toss.

Possible XI

England

Rory Burns, Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, Joe Root (c), Ollie Pope, Jos Buttler (wk), Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Dominic Bess, Stuart Broad, James Anderson

Pakistan

Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali (c), Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Fawad Alam

Key Players

England

Stuart Broad

Ongoing series – 54/3, 37/3 & 56/4

Chris Woakes

Ongoing series – 5 wickets & 103 runs

England vs Pakistan 2nd test match prediction

England has scripted a historic win in the first test match against Pakistan. They secured a 3-wicket victory on the Day 4 of the game, all credits to Jos Butler and Chris Woakes.

During the first test match everyone was looking up to Pakistan, all due to their big lead in the second innings, but things took a turn and both Jos Butler as well as Chris Woakes hammered Pakistan’s bowling attack in the later game to lead England to victory.

Eng vs Pak Cricket Tour 2020

Now, in the second test Pakistan will have to bat really well. Concerning the current position of Pakistan, other than Shan Masood nobody looked comfortable in the middle in the last game. Babar Azam is also required to pace-up his game, he looked good in the first innings but was struggling in the second.

On the other hand, England is expected to continue with their winning form.

Weather Conditions and Pitch Report

Weather conditions does not look good at all. Rain is expected throughout the test match, hinting upon the possible inclusion of D/L method.

Southampton pitch has provided assistance for both spinners and pacers. The most recent example is the West Indies win last month on this ground. If rain plays its part then, batting collapses might happen.

Team News

England

Ben Stokes will have to miss the rest of the series due to personal reason, which is a big loss for England. Zak Crawley is likely come in his place to strengthen the batting line up. If they follow the bowling rotation like they did in West Indies series, James Anderson might be given a rest and Sam Curran will come in his place

Probable XL-1. Rory Burns, 2. Dominic Sibley, 3. Zak Crawley, 4. Joe Root (c), 5. Ollie Pope, 6. Jos Buttler (wk), 7. Chris Woakes, 8. Dom Bess, 9. Sam Curran, 10. Stuart Broad, 11. Jofra Archer

Pakistan

Pakistan really missed a trick to win the first test match vs England. Their batting collapse in third innings and not being able to break partnership costed them the match.
Shadab Khan is likely lose his place in the side. He did not make any impact with the ball. Fawad Ahmed is likely come in his place.

Probable XL-1. Shan Masood, 2. Abid Ali, 3. Azhar Ali (c), 4. Babar Azam, 5. Asad Shafiq, 6. Fawad Alam, 7. Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 8. Yasir Shah, 9. Shaheen Shah Afridi, 10. Mohammad Abbas, 11. Naseem Shah
